Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Rashelle Hakak received her Ph.D. from the APA accredited program at California School of Professional Psychology, Alliant University, San Diego. She had extensive training in testing, diagnosis and treatment modalities at an APA accredited internship, Western Youth Services. For her Postdoctoral Fellowship she worked with Los Angeles Veterans Affairs in program development and training of psychiatry residents and fellows for a newly developed Family Therapy Treatment Program. Additionally, she has extensive experience with children in outpatient clinics, private practice, hospitals and school settings.
Dr. Hakak applies evidence-based practices, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), functional family therapy (FFT), and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), to work extensively with children, teens, adults and families. In her practice of all ages, she integrates an ecological and family systems approach which fosters growth, wholeness and connection for her clients.
Dr. Hakak works with individuals and families impacted by anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, trauma, intergenerational trauma (secondary trauma), mood disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, psychosis, different learning abilities, family conflict, interpersonal conflict, intergenerational cultural conflict, and school difficulty. Dr. Hakak enjoys working with adults, teens and children to support them through challenges to meet their goals.
Dr. Hakak has a specialty in working with families of twice-exceptional (2e) children and those with complex neurodivergent profiles, including individuals impacted by genetic and medical diagnoses, including PANDAS. Dr. Hakak also has in-depth knowledge of the school system, providing forensic consultation to school districts. Additionally, she offers private educational consulting and advocacy support services to children and their families.
